I’m Patricia Mora, BCBA, LBA

My mission is to help children and families grow and change behaviors that get in the way, so they can live life to their full potential.

I believe that childhood is a foundation parents set for their children as they grow into adulthood. It is the most important stage of development in a person’s life. For this reason, I founded Function First ABA, to help parents and children better shape their tomorrow together.

Throughout my career, I have provided therapy to clients within various communities, schools, and agencies. My role is not to push my own agenda but to work collaboratively with my clients. I help them set goals and then, based on their own personal values, I provide them with evidence-based and mindful strategies to help them achieve those goals.

I see a need for support in the Latinx Community. There is a lack of resources available for low-income Latinxs, and I would like to make an impact on their population.

As a Latina myself, it gives me great pleasure to help Latino families better engage with their children and to provide a more supportive social-emotional environment for them. By teaching parents new skill sets (how to play with their children, how to provide positive reinforcement, how to communicate with their children, and most importantly, how to support their children), I help families build a more encouraging home environment.

I am a Los Angeles native and a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst. My 15-years of experience in ABA and working with individuals with autism and others with related disorders has helped me become a well-rounded clinician. Additionally, I have a background in family systems and dynamics, and to add to my areas of expertise, I am currently studying to become a Marriage and Family Therapist. I have worked with adults, children, and entire families to help them achieve their goals.

I’m also a huge dog lover, so if you have a pet, I’d love to hear about it!
